Partners Pool Leagues hosted their Inaugural Annual Family Threesome Team Challenge Tournament on Saturday, April 1st.  Nineteen teams competed in two divisions and the results were as follows.

Intermediate Division

The family team of Rick Ducharme, Gilles Ducharme and Pierre Phillion were the victors in the intermediate division. Going through the tournament without a loss, they faced the Girard Family, with members Derrick and Joanne Girard and eleven year old Brady Lacasse, in the final. Team Ducharme emerged with a 69 to 58 victory in the first match to win the title. To get to the final they defeated the Wabano family, with 11 year old Tiffany, 60 to 29, team Nelles 93 to 89, and team Girard 63 to 66.

Second place finishers, the Girard family, advanced with wins over the Couchie family 67 to 56, team Gustafson 75 to 63 before losing to team Ducharme. In the semi final match they faced the Nelles family with members Brian and Barry and Ryan Martin. In a close match, they defeated Nelles 70 to 65 to earn a place in the final.

Third place finisher, team Nelles, went through the tournament with 4 wins and 2 losses.

Recreational Division

The Recreational division title went to the family team of Chris, Jennifer and Jeff Yee. They started the day with a 69 to 61 win over team Benard, with members Marc and his children, JC and Ronnie. They then went on to defeat the family of Diane Cote, twelve year daughter Kayla Dufresne and grandfather Les Doyle by a score of 71 to 63 and the Cook family 76 to 69 to earn a place in the final.

In the championship match, team Yee faced team Cote again. The first match went to team Cote then team Yee rebounded in the second game with a victory to take the title. Team Cote started the day with a 74 to 64 win over team Zufelt, then lost their next outing to team Yee. They then went on to defeat the Barnard family 84 to 58, Zufelt again 72 to 61, and in the semi-final, team Cook by a score of 68 to 63.

Second place went to the Cote family with third place was won by the family of Carl and Abby Cook and Matt Hayes.
