Junior Singles Titles Declared

Partners Pool Leagues hosted a Junior Singles Tournament on the weekend at Partners Billiards & Bowling. There were twenty-six players entered, with 11 in the Minor Division and 15 in the Major division.

Major Division

Cody Cox captured first-place honours, going through the double-knock out tournament undefeated. In his opening match he defeated Katie Monkman by a score of 2-0. Cox then continued his winning streak defeating Ian Dugas 2-0, Bobby Gustafson 2-0, and Ryan Lindenbach 2-0 to advance to the final.

Cox’s opponent in the final was Bobby Gustafson who qualified for the finals by defeating Ronnie Benard 2-1, Tyler Moring 2-0 before losing to Cox. Gustafson then rebounded to defeat Justin Hotte 2-1, Moring again 2-0, and in the semi final, Lindenbach 2-1.

In the championship final, Cox only needed the first set to claim the title, winning again by 2-0. Lindenbach took third spot.

Minor Division

The Minor Division Champion was Joshua Carrier who went through the tournament without a loss until the final. In his opening match, he defeated Dylan Schofield 2-0, then defeated Tiffany King 2-0. Carrier then defeated Kendra Monkman 2-1 and in the semi final beat Brandon Laverty 2-0 to advance to the advance to the final. The championship match saw Carrier lose the first set to Kendra Monkman 2-1. He then bounced back to win the second set 2-0 and the championship title.

Monkman’s reached the final with a win in her opening match over Dylan Margison 2-0. She then lost her next outing to Carrier. Monkman then went on a winning streak defeating Danielle Coroux 2-0, Margison again 2-0 and in the semi-final, third place finisher Brandon Laverty 2-0.
