The 13TH Annual Ontario V.N.E.A. Provincial Championships took place this past weekend at the Hamilton Convention Centre.

Singles results were as follows:


WOMEN’S SILVER DIVISION

Diane Kelly was crowned the champion in the Women’s Silver division. Kelly went through the tournament winning 6 matches. Kelly suffered her only loss during the preliminary rounds, but rebounded in the final to defeat Ami Reed of London in 2 straight sets.


MEN’S BRONZE DIVISION

Jason Bliss placed 4th in the Men’s Bronze division, winning 11 matches along the way. Bliss had lost only 2 matches during the tournament.

John Nixon placed 9th.


MIXED COPPER DIVISION

Darrel Doherty placed 3rd, winning 3 matches. J.P. Joseph finished in 5th place.
 


Team results were as follows:


MENS SILVER DIVISION

PTR Construction captured 4th place in the Men’s Silver Division, winning 5 of 7 matches.
Team members included Marc Mathon, Mike Carrier, Jean Marc Dupuis and Jean Ethier.


MEN’S BRONZE  HARDLUCK DIVISION

Cue Cumber started the tournament with 3 wins & 2 losses, which put them into the Hard Luck bracket. In this division they sailed through without a loss to capture the championship Team members included Yvan Perras, Dominic Bellissimo, Darcy Gauthier and Ernie Duhaime.


MEN’S BRONZE DIVISION

Damage Inc. placed 5th, finishing with 4 wins and 2 losses. Team members were Rob Barr, Dennis Mong, Dominic Bellissimo and Jim Couchie.
